AMO - Place Your Orders Conveniently

Q.
What is an AMO?
A.

An After Market Order (AMO) is a feature using which a customer can place an order even after the close of regular trading hours.

Q.
Who can place an AMO?
A.

AMO can be placed only by a customer who has an online trading account.

Q.
When can one place an AMO order?
A.

An AMO can be placed after the close of regular market hours between 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm and between 11.00 pm to 8.00 am the next morning.

Q.
How can I place an AMO ?
A.

AMOs can be placed similar to normal market orders .While placing an AMO, a customer cannot specify Market Price. Only Limit orders and Stop Loss orders can be placed. After Market Order is executed only if the limit price set by customer matches the market price on the next trading day and upon availability of sufficient margins.

Please note: AMO can be placed for scrips in the Cash segment only. Since margin limits in your account are checked after 8.00 am, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that sufficient margins /stocks are available in the trading account to process the AMO.
Q.
Can I specify market price while placing an AMO?
A.

No, AMOs cannot be placed at Market Price. You will have to necessarily specify a limit price within +/- 5% of the closing price of a scrip on a given day.

For Eg.- If the closing price of a scrip is Rupee 100/- then AMO can be placed in the price range of Rupee 95/- to Rupee 105/-.

Q.
On which exchanges can AMO be placed?
A.

AMOs can be placed in both NSE and BSE.

Q.
Can I place an AMO in Cash as well as Derivatives?
A.

No. AMO can be placed for Cash Segment only.

Q.
Can I modify/Cancel an AMO?
A.

Yes, you can modify/cancel an AMO from your Order Book. However, kindly note that this modification/cancellation has to be done before 8.00 am on the start of a trading day.

Kindly note that our risk validations (validations for margin limits) are done post 8.00 am and hence you cannot modify or cancel AMOs after this time. Post 8.00 am, your AMOs will either show 'In Process' or 'Rejected' status.

All orders that are 'In Process' will be sent to the Exchange for processing.
Q.
How can I cancel an AMO?
A.

AMO can be canceled from the Order Book like a normal order before 8.00 am only.
